Developing self advocacy in Advocacy In Greenwich
This is an exciting new project, which brings together two previous strands of work that have taken place in the past.
The aim of the project is to build on that work and develop strong self-advocacy in Greenwich.
The self-advocacy development work will support people who use the service to influence and participate in local, regional and national forums.
The self advocacy Worker will support members to develop new skills and increase the profile, presence and status of people with learning disabilities in the local community, important decision making forums and as part of the wider democratic process.
The creative drive that the project generates will also create new and exciting ways for people with learning disabilities to take on different roles within the organisation, the local community and decision-making forums and also to create influential and paid roles for people with learning disabilities.
